I’m so excited to be starting my blogging journey today! I haven’t quite decided what I will be blogging about, but I have tons of major changes happening in my life, so I felt like I needed a place to share all my exciting goings-on. I hope you enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is my life!
Not only is this my first blog post, but today was also my first road-trip (longer than 2 hours) by myself AND my first time driving in the city. I know, I know, it’s a little silly that I’m 22 years old and am just now doing these things.
Today was hectic and stressful!
My road-trip started off pretty uneventful. Driving, drinking an energy drink (yuck – I drank it solely to stay awake… I’m trying to pretend I didn’t consume all those chemicals), stuffing my face with sunflower seeds (pro-tip for drivers who have a hard time keeping their eyes open!), and trying to find a radio signal.
About 3 hours into my 6-hour-long journey, it started POURING. I mean, it was like a torrential downpour, with lightning and thunder and wiper blades going a million miles an hour. I had to slow down to probably 20km/h below the speed limit. I’m generally a nervous driver, so this was super stressful for me.
Not long after the rain started, I spotted a dark figure on the side of the road. A bear?
Nope… A moose!
She was so beautiful, just standing there in the rain. I slowed right down to get a good look at her. A car was coming toward us in the distance, so I decided to flash my brights at them, in hopes that they would slow down.
Unfortunately, my precautionary light-flickering scared the poor moose. Either that, or she really wasn’t a fan of the Iggy Azalea song blasting on the radio.
She whipped her head back like a puppy chasing after a tennis ball, and galloped away into the trees.
It. Was. Adorable.
It’s funny how such a huge animal can also be so cute.
I also saw two deer and a coyote along my trip.
All in all, I survived my 6-hour drive without falling asleep at the wheel or hitting any wildlife. City driving is a bit stressful for me, but I did it without having a total meltdown!
